Nature Near Panama City (15–40 min)

Travel to Panamá for nature, and wake up surrounded by vibrant wildlife. Panamá’s rainforests host more bird species than Canada and the U.S. combined. With one of the highest percentages of forest in Central America, this is the ideal destination for rainforest walks, jungle trails, and wildlife tours.

We got the Best of Both Worlds

From the vibrant energy of a modern city to the depths of a lush rainforest, Panamá transforms every perspective and unlocks new adventures at every turn.

Imagine hiking through a rainforest and suddenly stepping onto a lookout with sweeping views of the city skyline.

Panama City is the only capital city in the Americas with a tropical rainforest within its limits. It's the only place you can feel such a striking contrast.

We Take Care of our Natural Beauty

In Panamá, 34.5% of the land and 54% of its marine territory is made up of protected areas or natural reserves, including three UNESCO Natural Heritage Sites such as Coiba National Park.

Between two oceans, our coastlines tell their own story. With pristine beaches, waterfalls, and rainforest trails that invite you to go jungle hiking, surfing, diving, and to do many water activities. Here, you can even help protect five of the world’s seven sea turtles species that nest on our shores.

And beyond land, marine biodiversity in Panamá shines just as brightly. The Archipelago of Bocas del Toro has been declared a Hope Spot, recognizing its vital role in coral reef conservation and its promise for ocean recovery.
